You Don't Know Enough to Be a Pessimist

"The pessimist moans, 'I could make a better world than this.' The optimists sings, 'Go to it; that's what God put you here for.'" -- Charles Fillmore

Pessimism is a guessing game. You're guessing that you will fail. You're guessing that times will be tough. You're guessing that life will not work itself out in your favor.

Here's the problem with being a pessimist. You don't know enough to be one. Pessimism causes you to pre-judge a situation before you have all the facts. This robs you of your ability to enjoy the journey. That's right, pessimism steals your joy! And the joy of the Lord is our strength. Therefore pessimisms leave you weak, helpless, and full of dread. Rather than empowered, hopeful, and full of joy! Which sounds better to you? The answer is obvious.

When thrust into a new situation without full knowledge of the future, don't jump to the worst conclusion possible. Instead ask yourself, "If God is for me, who can be against me?" Then remember that all things work together for good for those who love God and are the called according to His purpose. Then believe the best because God's got your back! (If you'll let Him!)

Often times, pessimism feels like the easier choice. However, in the long run, the pessimist pays a much higher price. Pessimism is easy in the moment, but makes life harder in the long-run.

Rose colored glasses are free and require no prescription! Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. View your situation from a place of loving all creation rather than a place of dreading the future. This will allow you to enjoy the journey as things work themselves out.
